Partners In Kitchen

Make it your own, create what you want, and spice it up with Love and Joy.

Food is the key to one's heart. It is also an expression of love when words fall short. Be it small or grand celebrations, from birthday parties to weddings, food has become an integral part of all our lives. We create a lot of memories and feel connected just by sharing a meal with our loved ones. We eat the way we feel, and that’s why sometimes we feel happy and satisfied or even take a “siesta” after a heavy meal.

‘KAARAM’ presents “Partners in Kitchen”, an exploration of the bonds we form around food; bonds of love, friendship, equality, and affection.

Be it a first date or a family outing, food is an integral part of all our life events. Our food choices and the way we perceive cooking are deeply influenced by our traditional values. Bengalis eat fish because of their proximity to the sea, whereas black pepper dominates the cuisine of Kerala because the spice has been indigenous to that region for generations.

We associate a lot of memories with food. The smell of “Bhajiyas” on a rainy day, and the sound of a “Cotton candy” seller’s bell, brings some sweet memories back. The mere mention of “Biryani”, “Chole Bhatura”, or any of our favourite dishes, bring to our hearts a sense of joy and memories associated with those dishes.

Food is also our window into different cultures. You can still see the influence of Portuguese on Goan food even after the end of the colonial reign. Did you know Chicken Tikka Masala was born in the kitchen of one of the curry houses of the United Kingdom and not in the kitchen of India? We see how the food of one region crosses oceans and is adapted by another culture.

"Cooking is an art," as the saying goes, and every cook is an artist. Through their food, the cook communicates the finer nuances of any culture and tradition. The same Sambar recipe tastes different in each household due to the ingredients, methods, and the person who cooks it.

Cooking for someone special can be a personal and intimate act. We all can easily recall memories of friendships formed and partnerships created around a dinner table or over a cup of ‘Chai’.

When you cook your own meal instead of ordering from your favourite restaurant, you are contributing to a healthier lifestyle for yourself. The reason our elders have lived healthier lives than us has a lot to do with their food choices.

When it comes to food, the aim is to have fun with every aspect of it. Preparation, cooking, presentation, and eating—all of it! The only goal is to create a delicious and nourishing meal for yourself and your loved ones. Even better, you can give it a modern twist and make your recipes pass it down to future generations!

In our modern, busy lives, most of us are constantly looking for methods to make cooking easier to fit into our hectic schedules. The market is flooded with options to ease your cooking. However, these “quick” meals do not always have to be unhealthy!

At KAARAM we focus on bringing you the most authentic heirloom recipes that inspire you to create magic in the kitchen. To make it an extra-special meal, use the secret family recipes from your grandmother's kitchen or heirloom ready-made masalas like KAARAM to surprise your loved ones.

Nothing is better than going home to family, eating good food, and relaxing
