Potato fry a.k.a. the Indian version of spiced-up french fries / or wafers, is one the most flavoursome and a must side-dish that adds an extra crunch and texture to every meal.

These savoury and flavourful potatoes taste delicious with any Indian meals like chapati, rotis, sambar with rice, rasam, and any variety of rice. It's a simple and perfect yet distinctive lunch box recipe.


Kaaram Products Used:

  • Kaaram’s Turmeric Powder

  • Kaaram’s Andhra Curry Powder





Ingredients:

  • Boiled Potatoes – 250 – 300 g

  • Groundnut Oil – 2 tablespoons (or any cooking oil of your choice)

  • Kaaram’s Turmeric Powder - ½ teaspoon

  • Kaaram’s Andhra Curry Powder – 2-3 tablespoons

  • Red Chillies Powder (optional)

  • Salt to taste


Method:

  • Boil and cut medium-sized potatoes. Alternatively, the potatoes can be fried in any cooking oil.

  • In a kadhai ( Indian wok ), add 2 tablespoons of oil, add the boiled potatoes, and stir till golden brown.

  • Add Kaaram’s Turmeric Powder.

  • Add Kaaram’s Andhra Curry Powder to the potatoes and toss them for 4-5 mins. Do not cover and cook to avoid steam cooking. This ensures the potatoes stay crispy.

  • Add salt to taste. (Chilli powder can be added for a spicier flavour).

  • Potato Fry is now ready to serve! Have it as an appetiser or a side dish to your Indian meals.
