Ingredients:
Kaaram Turmeric powder ½ teaspoon
Kaaram Rasam Powder 1.5 tablespoon
Ripe Tomatoes 2
Tamarind paste 2 tablespoon
Garlic pods 2 pieces
Asafoetida a pinch
Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
Cumin seeds 1teaspoon
Dry Red chilies 2 broken
Oil 1 teaspoon
Curry Leaves for Tadka
Coriander leaves to garnish

Method:
Dilute the tamarind paste in 2 cups of water, Add finely chopped or smashed tomatoes to the tamarind water and Kaaram Turmeric powder. Once the water comes to a boil, add Kaaram's Rasam Powder to the boiling water and salt as per the taste and let it boil for another 5 minutes on a low flame.
Heat oil in a pan and when it is sufficiently hot, add the mustard seeds. Once it splutters add the cumin and let it sizzle. Now add the red chilies, asafoetida, garlic pods, and curry leaves, and sauté for a minute. Add this tempering to the boiling water and turn off the flame. Add fresh coriander leaves to garnish.
Serve the piping hot Rasam as a soup or mix it with rice to have it as a meal.
